{ Cambodia Note Sheet - Feb 29, 12' }

I went to Cambodia in January 2012. I admit that I didn't really know much about the history of the country. (I still don't know much now. Reading a few books do not really make me more knowledgeable.)Before the trip, I did all the usual things that tourists do, read a few guide books, look up beautiful historical sites to visit, tried to learn some local language and customs. I know that Cambodia is not a rich developed country, but the guide books did not prepare me for seeing what had actually happened there. All the famous historical sites are all ABSOLUTELY wonderful!  But We have also visited the the Killing Fields and S21. It is heartbroken to see it. It is heartbroken to see lots of children walking around trying to sell you their baskets of souvenirs. It is heartbroken to see children waiting next to your dinning table so that they could eat any scraps. After I come back to Hong Kong, I keep thinking of ways to help these people. I still have not figured it out, but I decided to make something about this trip to Cambodia that may help these people in some ways. I have a list of projects and one of them is the note sheets above. I made the 2 sheets  for people to download as freebies and wanted to link the Cambodia Red Cross on the page so people can donate whatever amount they can.  BUT I cannot upload pdf files onto blogger, and I have not been able to find free web hosting services that I can upload these pdf files. (The sheets are created in Excel so they are output as pdf files.) Would any of you know of free web hosting service that would let me upload pdf file so I can link it back to blogger??  My english is no good, but I hope you can understand what I'm trying to do. Thanks for understanding.

I was in primary school when I saw the Tiananmen Square Massacre. I will never forget & if I have children they will learn the truth.

We cannot move forward if our government cannot even face what they have done. Many of those who survived the Massacre were forced to exile and are still not allowed to go back after 20 years.

Finally went to watch the exhibition, so many beautiful works placed together and gained a better understand behind her design.

{ Creative 09' - Blossom }

Ali suggested picking one word for the year 2009. I picked "Organize" as my word at first but it didn't feel complete. I need to move forward and burst out. So I finally settled with the word "Blossom". I want to experiment, to embrace life so much more and to let my creative energy to burst free and bloosm into whatever forms it need to take.

So I want to start 2009 with a list of projects that I am and will work on:

* Paper Adventure 08 - I came across Paper Adventure 08 during 2009 new year (LOL). It is a list of 52 weekly promo starting from Jan 08 to Dec 08. I felt like a higher power wanted me to discover this at the very beginning of a new year. So I talked myself into adding another project to my creative 09 list. Operation 00 is to create a book (any form) to document/journal/record the coming 52 weeks of 2009. I made a book out of my X'mas gift packaging.

I didn't cover the cardboard with any fancy paper coz I want to remind myself of the transition from 2008 to 2009 and that I feel so loved at the time. (I received a kat banker from Mr. C and a "Loved" charm purchased from TejaesArt.

* I also made a little sketchbook/gratitude journal for my purse so I can get a little sketch therapy during the day then put down 5 things that I'm grateful about the day in the evening.

* Joined the Creative Everyday 2008 around Dec last year, this year I started early and joined the Creative Everyday 2009.

* 101 Things To Do In 1001 Days - Thinking of the 101 things I want to do within 1001 days.
* Ali's A Week in the Life - Capture a week of life.
* Collage Play With Something Two Crow About
* Do Not Leave Unattended
* Many Maniacs Creating Art - mainly on art journal.

My right side bar is getting longer & longer. Perhaps I did take on too much artsy projects, may be I will never finish any one of them but the progress will still be a worth while experience.

Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Been reading The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. This is a Great read.
Intro about the book:
Dr. Pausch was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was asked to give a "last lecture" as most professors do to give words of wisdoms to others. His is about Achieving childhood dreams.
It is one of the most wonderful books. Definitely one that I would give to my children to help guide them on the way.
