{ What I MAde - Goal Cards. Oct 23, 2012 }

{ What I MAde - Goal Cards. Oct 30, 2012 }
As I mentioned before, I have finished reading Goals!: How to Get Everything You Want -- Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible and am working on my set of goals. One of the exercises is to create a deck of Goal Cards. Here is mine using blank notecards, graph paper and MT tapes that I have around my home. A few pointers from the book when creating your goals:
  • Write your goals with the "3P" in mind: Use personal, positive and present tense when writing goal statements. For example: I'm super healthy and run marathon in 2013.
  • After you finish writing down your goals on paper, try to visualize them. Imagine how it feels like to have achieved those goals. Then act as if you have already achieved them. (You may want to do a vision board to help visualize your goals.)
  • Create a set of goal cards so you can remind yourself of your goals whenever you need to.
  • Brainstorming: Do brainstorming often on problems you encounter and on how you can achieve your goals. Pick one of your most important goals and come up with 20 ideas of what you can do to move towards that goal.
  • Pick some of the ideas you just come up with and act on them immediately.
  • Do the brainstorming often to exercise your mental power. The more you do the exericse, the easier it gets. It will make a difference in your career and your life when you are able to contribute new ideas and act quickly on them.
I will post more notes from the book later on since I think it is very useful.

{ My Favorite Little Thing - Oct 11, 2012 }

{ My Favorite Little Thing - Oct 11, 2012 }
I'm so in love with this magazine called, Little Thing, published by a Hong Kong Small is Beautiful Co. It is published every other month in Chinese. I have at least 12 of them on my book shelf already. The magazine is beautifully designed and they do lots of research to introduce readers to new and interesting topics. Emily Chalmers and Imke Klee are regular contributors to the magazine. The October issues talks about stamps, letters and all things related to mail. They even have a fashion feature called, Mr. Postman. Being a mailart junkie myself, I had to get it. :) I managed to take a few snapshots of the pages, please click them for better view.

{ Art journal - Feb 24 & 25, 12' }

{ Art Journal Feb 24 & 25, 12' }
  • I have signed up for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge for 2012. I don't think I could actually finish 52 books coz I'm a very slow reader, but it is the trying that matters.
  • 2 journal pages from my idea journal sketchbook. A lot has happened so I have not been updating the blog as often as I used to but will keep doing journal pages and posting them here every week. Take Care :)

{ What I Made # 12 & The Right Brain Business Plan }

What I MAde # 12 & Reading.
  • A leather cover for my Muji binder. I decided to pick the smallest binder from Muji coz honestly my back is killing me from having to carry tons of books and papers around. So having a small and sturdy binder is essential. I'm going to add a pen clip to it later on. The approx size of the binder is:  15cm x 10cm.
  • The Right Brain Business Plan by Jennifer Lee - I'm so thankful that the local bookstore decided to get this book. Have started to read it and am working on my BIG VISION. I actually have got lots ot book from library on starting up a business but this one seems to be more appealing. :D On the official website there is a download section that you can access even without getting the book. Check it out.
Have a happy weekend :)

{ Drawing Page - Apr 20, 10' }

One of my 2010 resolutions is to read more books. So far I have finished reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, An Illustrated Life, and I have been reading Getting Things Done, Even Happier: A Gratitude Journal for Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment, and The Orphan's Tales : In the Night Garden. I love all of these books and would love to join challenge like 52 Books in 52 Weeks but there is no way I can finish 52 books in one year so I just decided to stick with reading whatever books I have at home. I'm honestly amazed at how many books that I have not touched and loved yet. So I listed them out on paper along with my other "to-use-up" list for 2010.
I wrote some of the main points on one of my drawing journal pages to remind myself of them later on.
